Instead of playing and learning in school, my children are fighting to survive. They suffer from disease, hunger, and fear, and I feel powerless to protect them.

The war has stolen everything from us. We have faced displacement, famine, extreme price hikes, and a lack of basic necessities. Clean water and sanitation are scarce, and my children are suffering from skin diseases due to pollution and the inability to maintain proper hygiene.

With severe fuel shortages, we can no longer cook as we once did. Instead, we burn wood and fire to prepare our meals, despite knowing the health risks. But in Gaza, we do not have choices—only survival.

My husband and I lost our grocery store, our only source of income. Our home is damaged, and we struggle daily to provide even the most basic human needs. Life in Gaza is unbearable, a reality no one should have to endure.

Despite everything, I still hold onto hope. We pray that the world sees us, stands with us, and helps us survive this catastrophe.

We are relying on your kindness to:
✅ Buy food and water—especially as Ramadan is only days away.
✅ Repair what remains of our home so we have shelter.
✅ Evacuate when borders open because our children deserve safety and a future.

💔 We are struggling, but we are not giving up. Please, if you can, donate or share our story. Every contribution—no matter how small—brings us closer to a life of dignity and peace.

Ghada Basheer https://istandwithpalestine.org/2025/03/15/ghada-basheer/ https://istandwithpalestine.org/2025/03/15/ghada-basheer/#respond Sat, 15 Mar 2025 19:01:18 +0000 https://istandwithpalestine.org/?p=1176 Hi, my name is Ghada Basheer, and I am reaching out with hope in my heart.

I am a computer engineer, but today, I am unemployed. The war in Gaza has destroyed everything—businesses, infrastructure, and livelihoods. My husband also lost his job, and now, we have no source of income.

My family consists of four people—my husband, my son, my daughter, and me. Every day, we struggle to meet even our most basic needs. The uncertainty of the future weighs heavily on us. If reconstruction and stability return to Gaza, I would love to stay and rebuild our lives. But if the situation remains the same, I may have no choice but to seek a new beginning elsewhere.

Beyond our struggles, my father suffers from kidney failure and was supposed to undergo a kidney transplant, but the war stopped everything. His health is deteriorating, and he urgently needs treatment.

My biggest wish? To have a steady income, to provide for my children, and to see them grow up in a safe and stable home.

With your help, we can:
✅ Secure food and basic necessities for my family.
✅ Work toward finding a stable source of income for me and my husband.
✅ Help my father get the medical care he desperately needs.

As Ramadan approaches, I pray for peace, for an end to this war, and for a chance to rebuild our lives. Your support—whether through a donation or simply sharing our story—means the world to us.

Alaa Ashour https://istandwithpalestine.org/2025/03/15/alaa-ashour/ https://istandwithpalestine.org/2025/03/15/alaa-ashour/#respond Sat, 15 Mar 2025 18:57:13 +0000 https://istandwithpalestine.org/?p=1172 Alaa Ashour

My name is Alaa Ashour. I am from Gaza, and I still live here. Before the war, I had a home in northern Gaza and worked as a marketing and public relations manager. But today, everything has changed.

I now live in western Gaza because my home, my neighborhood—everything I once knew—has been destroyed. My family of 13 people has endured unimaginable hardships over the past year and four months, surviving displacement, hunger, and fear.

The war has shattered not only our homes but also our spirits. We struggle every day just to find food, water, and a safe place to sleep. We lived in tents, suffering through the scorching summer heat, relentless insects, and the freezing, rain-flooded winter. I lost loved ones, my job, and my home. The life I once knew is gone.

My mother’s health has deteriorated before my eyes. She now relies on a wheelchair and urgently needs spinal surgery abroad—treatment that is impossible to get here in Gaza.

Despite everything, I still have hope. I dream of rebuilding our home, clearing the rubble, and making it livable again. I also dream of continuing my doctoral studies abroad and creating a better future for myself and my family.

But to do that, I need help.

Your support will help us:
✅ Rebuild a part of our home so we can finally leave the tents.
✅ Provide medical treatment for my mother.
✅ Give me a chance to pursue my education and rebuild my life.

Every donation, no matter how small, brings us closer to safety, stability, and hope. If you can’t donate, please share our story—it makes a difference.
