Following the implementation of a ceasefire on Sunday, Palestinians are returning to Gaza, where the devastation is described as "total destruction."
A displaced Palestinian, Mohamed Gomaa, expressed the overwhelming shock felt by many as they confront the aftermath of the bombardments, which has resulted in significant loss of life and widespread ruin.
The Gaza health ministry estimates that around 47,000 Palestinians have died since hostilities began, including Gomaa's brother and nephew. He emphasized that the destruction in Gaza is unlike natural disasters, characterizing it instead as a "war of extermination" due to the extensive damage inflicted by Israeli military actions since October 7, 2023.
