The majority of people in Rafah city are finding it hard to stay, especially in the central part and the Philadelphi Corridor, given the fact that the Israeli military did not leave the area during the first phase of the ceasefire.
Israeli forces have kept the area under their control, while deploying quadcopters, drones and heavy machineguns along the border.
The majority of people are on the move now, seeking shelter, not necessarily in the so-called “safe zone” – supposedly as designated by the Israeli military.
We have seen in the past months how this particular zone turned into more of a death trap with many of the displaced families, including women, children, the elderly, and the sick, killed in this “safe zone”.
The Israeli forces’ evacuation orders have been proven multiple times to be arbitrary, false, misleading and contradictory.
